31 August, Bolivia -- The EUROCLIMA+ project in the Resilient Food Production sector "Resilient Heritage of the Andes, Cañahua and Tarwi", implemented by Swisscontact,
held the event "SME experience exchange and business roundtable" in the department of Cochabamba, Quillacollo. The aim of the event was to generate exchanges of experiences between SME beneficiaries of the project and to structure possible alliances between them.
Andes Trópico, Granja Samiri and Panaseri are small enterprises benefiting from the project that works on the production and processing of cañahua and tarwi, organic and nutritious resilient foods. Sharing knowledge and experiences among the microenterprises will allow them to strengthen themselves in different aspects such as traceability, production, technology and quality.

The day of the event included a tour of the Andes Trópico company led by its general manager, Lic. Raquel Olivera, who explained its production, traceability and technology in the production of its products based on Cañahua, amaranth, almonds, sesame, oats and others. Eng. Norka Ojeda, representative of the visiting microenterprise Panaseri, a producer of tarwi processed foods such as tarwi toast, flour and mote de tarwi, expressed her enthusiasm and gratitude during the tour: "We are grateful to the project and to Andes Trópico for the opportunity to see their facilities, production equipment and traceability, which challenges us as a small company to dream big".

Afterwards, representatives of the micro-enterprises Granja Samiri, Andes Trópico and Panaseri were trained on food safety, Hazard Analysis, and Critical Control Points (HACCP), facilitated by Eng. Marvel Pérez. The objective of the training was to make the companies aware of the regulations, ordinances, production differences and food safety values.

The project promotes the resilience of rural farming production systems in the Bolivian and Peruvian highlands, strengthening the Cañahua and Tarwi production complexes by improving the production, marketing and consumption of superfoods that are part of the food heritage of both countries, benefiting 1,200 producer families.
