Brussels, Belgium, 29 May 2018. The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Argentina, together with the support of UN Environment, organised a workshop on clean transport in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event is part of the EUROCLIMA+ initiative and it will take place on 31 June and 1 July.

The objective is to discuss cleaner and more efficient transport in the framework of the Nationally Determined Contributions of Argentina under the Paris Agreement.

The first day will have a presentation of the results of a baseline study on the fuel economy in Argentina, carried out by UN Environment and financed by the Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI), partially financed by the European Union.

On the second day, the workshop will focus on zero-emission electric mobility, one of the priority themes of EUROCLIMA+.

UN Environment, with financial support from the European Union through EUROCLIMA+, is partnering with the countries of Latin America in order to create the conditions and accelerate the transition towards electric mobility.

The workshop will culminate with the presentation of a methodological guide for the development of a National Electric Mobility Strategy for Argentina. Therefore, the event will dictate the beginning of the formulation of this strategy.
