Mexico City, 29 May 2018. A Capacity-building course for the implementation of projects within the climate governance framework is being held in Mexico City, in a workshop where public officials and experts from civil society and the private sector can strengthen their capacities for the execution of climate projects.
The course, organised by the Mora Institute in the framework of the Climate Governance component of the EUROCLIMA+ programme as part of the strategic competency development approach implemented by GIZ, will be held at the Mora Institute facilities from 29 to 31 May, and will bring together more than 30 participants from 6 Latin American countries. The event in Mexico City will be inaugurated by representatives of the European Union Delegation in Mexico and the Secretariat of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) of Mexico.
The training combines face-to-face and virtual learning modalities based on practical cases proposed by the participants who have committed to replicate the process in their respective projects. It aims to provide key actors in the region with methodological tools for the implementation of climate projects, which will help translate the commitments adopted by the countries in the Paris Climate Agreement into projects with real impacts.
The course is the last in a series of three training courses aimed at public officials and representatives of civil society organisations or the private sector, with experience as executors or coordinators of climate project implementation. The first course was held on 24 to 26 April in Santiago, Chile. The second course of the series was held on 14 to 15 May in Buenos Aires.
