Gender perspective and participation of vulnerable groups
EUROCLIMA+ cooperates with Latin American countries to mainstream gender equality and promote inclusiveness, integrating the perspectives of vulnerable groups, indigenous peoples and local communities, to support the implementation of commitments under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The different actions that this EU programme has implemented and continues to promote in synergy with the countries are presented below:
What can EUROCLIMA+ contribute?
Integration
- Support to the integration of gender equality into national policies, action plans and other measures in line with the UNFCCC convention.
Development
- Developing institutional capacities, action plans and practical tools to expand the gender focus and the participation and consultation of women and women's groups in relation to Climate Change.
- Developing institutional capacities, action plans and practical tools to ensure the consideration and participation of vulnerable groups (such as indigenous peoples, minorities and the extremely poor) in climate actions.
