Paratransit capacity building and fleet renewal programs in Latin America and Africa This session will include short presentations of relevant experiences from Latin American and African cities to professionalize informal transport, drawing on important lessons learned in the areas of sustaining reforms over time (e.g. impact of commercial financing, bus operators’ corporate governance…), access to financing for bus renewal and working capital, as well as the role of government. The presentations of the case studies will be followed by a panel discussion that delves deeper into the current challenges and opportunities associated with informal and semi-formal transit capacity building programs. Public transport sector integration This session will present and discuss public transport system integration and paratransit sector reforms based on good practices global experience, including from Latin America. Strategies to accelerate electric mobility This session will present the findings of a recent reports on the economics of e-mobility in the global south including the Sahel region and discuss the challenges and opportunities of e-vehicles uptake including 2/3 Wheelers, e-buses, and energy/charging infrastructure.
