The Regional Meeting on Climate Change and Gender Equality will be held virtually through various sessions throughout the month of September 2021. These sessions will showcase experiences, good practices, challenges and opportunities for integrating gender equality into climate action in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and the roadmap of the Gender Action Plan 1 (GAP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The event is organized by the government of Chile, in its capacity as COP25 Presidency through its Ministries of Environment, Foreign Affairs, Women and Gender Equality, and is developed thanks to the support of the European Union, through its EUROCLIMA+ Program and the technical support of ECLAC as key strategic partners in climate action and to connect the dots between the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. The project also has the collaboration of the EUROSOCIAL+ Program, United Nations System in Chile, and the financial contribution of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The meeting geared to national, regional and global decisionmakers, academia, the media and civil society. Sharing and discussion of experiences in the international, public, and private climate change financial sector aimed at integrating gender considerations and facilitating access to funds; and identifying opportunities to facilitate access to international climate funds according to type of beneficiary. El evento tiene como objetivo compartir una guía sobre los elementos de género claves para los países que están a) actualizando sus NDC, b) diseñando nuevas políticas climáticas y/o c) desarrollando estrategias sectoriales para responder a los impactos climáticos. Para ello, el evento se centrará en resaltar los esfuerzos realizados en la región, identificar lecciones aprendidas, y analizar las buenas prácticas identificadas por los diferentes países en la región.
En el marco de la Serie de Conversatorios Virtuales: Las bondades del bosque ¿y nosotros, que hacemos por él?, este webinar tuvo como objetivo: Compartir los resultados del aprovechamiento de los beneficios del bosque en los territorios indígenas de Bolivia.
En este conversatorio se buscó difundir el marco regulatorio y las experiencias sobre políticas públicas de adaptación y mitigación frente al cambio climático, a nivel nacional, departamental, y municipal.
