Promotion and granting of green patents as a mechanism for addressing Brazil's commitments under the Paris Agreement (NDC).
This action, channelled in collaboration with the National Industrial Property Institute (Spanish acronym INPI) in coordination with the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC), aims to improve knowledge and technical skills for the promotion and granting of green patents as a mechanism for addressing the commitments made by Brazil in the Paris Agreement (NDC).
Through the support of EUROCLIMA+, various training events have been carried out in which INPI officials have been able to share with their counterparts from the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (Spanish acronym OEPM), the challenges and progress made in the granting of patents that contribute to progress in meeting mitigation targets.
Likewise, with the objective of advancing towards the construction of a national strategy for the dissemination of INPI's Green Patents Programme, which promotes the development of environmentally respectful technologies, seminars have been promoted in Brasilia and Sao Paulo in which governmental actors and private enterprise representatives have participated.
