Community of Practice of EUROCLIMA+ / MobiliseYourCity
Sustainable Urban Mobility Platform in Latin America, an initiative of the EUROCLIMA+ programme with the global alliance MobiliseYourCity, implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) with the support of the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities and Local Government Associations - FLACMA.
What does the EUROCLIMA+ / MobiliseYourCity Community of Practice consist of?
With funding from the European Union and in partnership with MobiliseYourCity, a Community of Practice on mobility in the region has been created, called the Latin American Sustainable Urban Mobility Platform, which seeks to strengthen and expand the capacities of local governments in sustainable urban mobility projects and programmes. In this way, it is intended that there is a correct conceptualisation, planning, development, implementation and monitoring of these initiatives and policies in the transport sector.
To this end, virtual and face-to-face spaces are offered so that people, institutions and other agents of change interested in sustainable urban mobility can create networks in the region. This virtual platform seeks to bring knowledge, tools and skills to public servants. For personal meetings, the generation of opportunities such as forums, seminars, workshops and participation of members in relevant events is encouraged.
In this way, networks and alliances are strengthened to improve the scope of policies to promote sustainable urban mobility in the region. The creation of synergies is intended to accelerate the transition to low-carbon mobility and to help meet the targets set forth in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the 2030 Agenda in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
