Integrated Planning of the Bicycle Infrastructure Network for the Municipality of La Paz Phase I
Implemented by
Objective
Create the bicycle infrastructure network for the municipality of La Paz and propose an intermodal connection, which promotes the use of bicycles in urban mobility, through the design and construction of a bicycle path in the Southern Macro District
Challenges in the region
- In La Paz, less than a thousand trips are made daily by bicycle, which represents 0.04% of the modal split
- Due to health contingencies, the construction of emerging bicycle lanes has begun, but there is still no permanent cycling infrastructure
- In the city's Southern Macro District there are Sunday bike rides, which will help boost usage with the construction of the cycle path
