Overview of private sector financing sources in the Latin American and Caribbean region with a focus on climate change and biodiversity conservation

Under the Contract signed between SURECO & Partners CORP (contractor) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) (contractor). The deliverable constitutes a report with the main findings, including a data tool in excel format with the results of the mapping exercise of private sector investments available for the climate and biodiversity of the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region in the sectors clean energy, water, transport, agriculture, forestry and other land uses (AFOLU), biodiversity and ecosystem-based solutions. This report was executed based mainly on publicly available secondary information.

This report presents intermediate results of a broader analysis of the economic responses to the COVID-19 crisis in the LAC region, and how the allocated investments can accelerate the economic recovery phase while meeting climate change goals. The report has been developed thanks to an investment tracking tool, the LAC Recovery Tracker, which analyses over 1,100 policies to provide a live snapshot on spending in the region. The LAC Recovery Tracker is a subset of the larger Global Recovery Observatory.i
En el marco de la Política Nacional de Movilidad Urbana Sostenible (PNMUS), el programa Euroclima apoyó al Ministerio de Transporte y Obras Públicas (MTOP) del Ecuador en el desarrollo de una serie de guías que buscan orientar a los Gobiernos Autónomos Descentralizados (GAD) en la implementación de la PNMUS.
A través de esta guía se busca respaldar a diferentes actores del territorio urbano en el proceso de toma de decisiones con herramientas y ejemplos para aplicar efectivamente las SbN en sus territorios, crear capacidades y facilitar la implementación de estrategias para la planificación y desarrollo urbano resilientes.
El modelo del playbook arroja luz sobre cómo están actuando los países de América Latina y el Caribe. Identifica los pasos prácticos y los recursos que los líderes pueden consultar en su viaje de transición del transporte.
