EUROCLIMA results of the First Phase

The objective of the first phase of EUROCLIMA has been to improve the knowledge of Latin American decision-makers and scientists regarding the problems and consequences of climate change, in order to integrate them in sustainable development strategies.
Climate Change is a high priority for Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as for the European Union, and therefore one of the key themes of the EU-LAC relations. The Santiago Declaration, outcome of the Summit celebrated in Chile, January 2013, reiterated the importance of climate change for both regions and recognized the EUROCLIMA programme’s accomplishments.

Este documento se ha desarrollado como producto de capitalización, en el marco de la Cumbre de Financiamiento desarrollada en Bogotá el 20 de septiembre de 2024 con el apoyo del Programa Euroclima
El informe consolidado es producido, cada año, por el Secretariado de EUROCLIMA+ para ofrecer al público interesado una información completa y armonizada de lo que hace el Programa; y los resultados que, paulatinamente, y de manera acumulativa, se están alcanzando.
El presente informe de capitalización abarca las diferentes reflexiones de este taller temático, completadas con aportaciones de la bibliografía y comentarios.
El primer taller de Gestión del Conocimiento sobre el tema de “La gobernanza de las cuencas en el contexto del cambio climático” tuvo lugar el 19 de mayo de 2022, con la participación de aproximadamente 30 personas.
As every year, the partners of the EUROCLIMA+ Programme have met in the last quarter of 2022 to take stock of the results achieved and plan for the future. This year's Annual Meeting has been marked by the expansion of the Program to the Caribbean, increasing the number of partner countries from 19 to 33, and increasing its sectoral focus in the area of biodiversity and circular economy.
