EUROCLIMA + promotes South-South and North-South cooperation to strengthen Climate Action in Latin America.
Santiago, Chile, June 14, 2019. Promoting and facilitating cooperation and experience exchanges in the implementation of NDCs among Latin American countries and with the European Union is one of the objectives of the "Peer Dialogue to Enhance NDC implementation", promoted by the EUROCLIMA+ Programme under the Climate Governance component, and developed through the strategic alliance between the German Society for International Development Cooperation(GIZ) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), with the support of the AVINA Foundation.
In order to advance the fulfilment of this objective, on December 21, 2018, the initiative began the process known as "peer exchanges", in which organisations and entities from the 18 Latin American countries partnering with the EUROCLIMA+ programme can participate. The main focus is on capacity building for NDC implementation.
In the framework of this process, 11 (eleven) proposals for exchanges from 7 (seven) different countries were selected. Next, details of the selected exchanges are presented:
