Began its activities in 1997 as a European Commission Delegation after the signing of the Peace Agreements that led to the intensification of cooperation actions between Guatemala and the European Union. As of December 1, 2009, it became the European Union Delegation in Guatemala.
The European Union is represented in Honduras by a Delegation located in Tegucigalpa. The Delegation has diplomatic mission status and officially represents the EU in Honduras.
